Hon. Bright Onajefe-Gift Edejewhro, a former Councilor, Local Government Chairman and former Commissioner for two ministries between 2015 and 2019, also maintained that even though the aim of every political party is to win elections, he don’t see the All Progressive Congress APC, wining any elections in Delta State come 2023, adding that, he is not seeing the APC retaining the Delta Central Senatorial Seat cone 2023.
SpeakingwithSouthernVoicenews in his office at Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area recently, the PDP stalwart, noted that he is not the type that does his consultations in the social media, but said he is the most qualified for the job when it comes to experience, achievements and pedigree.
On the D-23 group and its screening process, Hon. Edejewhro stated that the group does not have the capacity to screen any contestant because they are not political body like the INEC, hence he refused submitting himself to that screening.
While commenting on the zoning agitation by the Delta Central Senatorial Zone, the grassroot politician admitted that there was no written agreement of power shift or rotation but rather an understanding. He however argued that if there was such agreement, no one should have contested with Governor Okowa in 2015, but agreed that, having been out of power in the past sixteen years, it will be fair enough, if power goes back to the Central. Asked how he sees the odds favouring him considering his maternal affiliation to the Delta North, he said; ” People should stop such insinuations. I have always played my politics from my paternal home which is Uvwie”.
“I am from Unit 4, Ward 10 in Uvwie Local Government Council, and, I didn’t become a councilor, local government chairman and Commissioner through my mothers side”.
While commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for what he described as giant stride in infrastructural development, Hon. Sir. Bright appealed to Deltans to vote him as he had a lot to offer and to also improve on governor Okowa’s achievements.
