The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has urged delegates in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state to support his gubernatorial ambition, saying he not a stranger to them.
Speaking in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area in continuation of his consultation visits across the state, Rt Hon Oborevwori commended the people for their prayers for him, saying that their prayers have worked for him.
“Please, accept me, support me all the way. I am not a stranger to you, I am your son. Your prayers are working for me. Our state Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has done very well and I am here today to appeal to our party leaders, critical stakeholders and delegates to do the needful for me at the primaries of our party so that I will continue with the good things that our Governor is doing for Deltans”, he said.
He also said that; “I want to thank our women and youths too for everything. My street credibility is working for me and I will use it to work for the interest of all Deltans”.
At the Council Hall of the Ughelli North Local Government Secretariat, the Speaker who was warmly received said that; ” I am here on a consultation visit, I have come to tell you that I have the intention to run for the governorship position. You know the Governor very well and all that he has been doing, I want to continue from there in 2023″.
According to the Governorship aspirant; “I know that your two sons are in the race, but I want you to support my aspiration as Urhobo is one and so do the right thing by voting for me at the forthcoming primaries. I have street wisdom and credibility going for me. It is my appeal that you should be there for me “.
The Governorship aspirant who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, while speaking at Otu-Jeremi, Headquarters of Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state, implored the leaders of the party, critical stakeholders and delegates to vote for him at the primaries on May 21st, 2022.
He sued for unity, saying that politics is not a do or die affairs and advised that campaign should be issue based and not that of drag him down syndrome
“I have come to meet our leaders, stakeholders and delegates to inform you of my intention to run for the governorship position. I am appealing to you to vote for me at the primaries so that I will consolidate on what our Governor has done. Please, send me to Government House as your governor and I will not disappoint you”, he said.
Michael Djegbe, PDP Chairman in the area assured the governorship aspirant of the votes of delegates in Ughelli South, saying that; “Victory is yours on that day. You have nothing to fear on that day”.
