His Grace, Most Rev. Augustine Obiora Akubueze, Metropolitan Archbishop of Benin City Archdiocese and newly appointed Apostolic Administrator of Warri Diocese, on Wednesday, April 27, formally resumes office with an inaugural Mass concelebrated with the immediate past Bishop of the Diocese, Bishop John Afareha.
The immediate past CBCN President was joined by the Emeritus Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. John Oke’Oghene Afareha, priests of the Diocese and faithful.
In his homily, Archbishop Akubeze charged the faithful of Warri Diocese not to be weary but continually pray for the growth and development of the Diocese, noting that he is aware of the yearning for peace and evangelization by the faithful of Warri.
He appealed to all to lend their support and as well join him in prayer for a successful administration. Akubeze further prayed for God’s rewards and blessings upon the priests, rekigius and faithful of Warri Diocese.
On his own part, the Chancellor of Warri Diocese, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Ederaine, on behalf of the Administrator welcomed, thanked all for their turn up and called on all to at all time speak positive things about the Diocese.
