The Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, has announced the ordination to the Catholic celibate priesthood of 17 deacons. The ordination is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Saint Williams Catholic Church, Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. The Mangu IDP camp in Plateau State have received a boost as a social enterprise organisation, Illuminating Minds, said it trained 67 teachers on trauma-informed classroom care. Dr Itari Turner, Founder of the organisation said in a statement weekend, that the training tagged;  “A Teacher with a Difference”, was conducted in collaboration with its partners Shamiri Institute and Charis Healthcare & Community Support Initiative. The Federal Road Safety Corps has apprehended 162,834 traffic offenders nationwide from January to June, 2023, The PUNCH has learnt. The corps spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, disclosed this to our correspondent on Sunday. According to Kazeem, the traffic offenders were arrested for committing 179,165 offences. Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation has constituted an ad-hoc committee on behalf if the Federal Government to review the curriculum vitae of individuals who will be included inti board appointments.
