The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Ari Mohammed Ali while briefing journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Asaba, said the deceased and two other armed men suspected to be members of IPOB attacked a police patrol team “attached to Illah Division while on stop and search duty at Ogbada quarters along Illah–Akwukwu-Igbo road,” and the team in response, “engaged them in a fierce gun duel during which one of the hoodlums was neutralized while the other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries.

He said; ‘ The Command wishes to state that there is no curfew declared in Okpanam community and as a matter of fact, Okpanam community is calm and two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident that led to the death of three Policemen in the early hours of Sunday, July 24, 2022 and that the Command is closing up on the other members of the gang.

Experts from USAID who mostly focused their lectures on the USAID programme “FeedFuture”, submitted that to solve food problems there must be lots of activities to be engaged in. They said only seven States were selected in Nigeria for the programme, four in the North and three in the South.
