Delta State Government has pledged to recover all Government lands illegally acquired by land grabbers across the state. The Chairman, State Taskforce on Land Recovery and Outright Demolition Committee, Chief Frank Omare made the pledge at a meeting with occupiers of landed property of the Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai-Asaba at Government House, Asaba. Chief Omare said any building on the University land without Certificate of Occupancy would be demolished, pointing out that many people encroached on government lands without recourse to the law guiding land acquisition. President Bola Tinubu has restricted ministers, agency heads, and other government officials from undertaking publicly funded foreign trips. The ban will last for three months in the first instance and will take effect on April 1, 2024, Punch Newspaper reports.
