Business Owners in Asaba, the Delta State Capital has lamented the unfavorable government policies which they say is causing hindrances to their business.
Coordinator of Asaba Business Community and CEO- Terita Empire, Mrs. Adaeze Onwubiko disclosed this to journalists in Asada during a workshop, stating that most government policies causing them setbacks.
She noted that government taxes on daily basis affects their businesses as a result, it has never been beneficial to them.She appealed that government should implement policies that will favourable to business owners but not collecting tax every day from business owners.
“We are not against tax collections, but let it be beneficial to us”.
Mrs. Onwubiko also added that alot of people are struggling in their business with little or no patronage, yet government still making things difficult for them forgetting that business owners grow the economy.
She called on government to make policies that will be favourable to them not those that will weigh them down.
She maintained that Asaba Business Community is an umbrella body that connects over one thousand business owners. The aim she said is to discuss issues and help themselves to sell their products and introduce same within themselves.
“We sell within ourselves instead of our customers to go elsewhere, we refer the person to our member who does that or who is in that business angle”.
“I am a business owner we come together to help ourselves and we do our business online”.
Onwubiko advised her colleagues in the business never to give up, regardless of the challenges on sales. You have to be consistence because we don’t know who is watching us in the business that they should not loose hope, Asaba Business Community exists because of you and I, she stated.
