Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, has urged Christians especially, members of Ladies of St. Mulumba to impact the Church and society positively using their offices and positions.
Bishop Ewherido gave the charges at the Mother of Redeemer Catholic Church, Effurun, Delta state, on Friday, November 3, 2023, during the opening/ thanksgiving Mass of the 45th Annual National Convention of the Ladies of Saint Mulumba hosted by the Benin City Metropolitan Council in Warri.
Bishop Ewherido, while thanking the women for their coordination, commitment and dedication, affirmed the noticeable forcefulness of women, both at the family, the Church and the societal level. He admonished all to be more impactful and bring along their male counterparts especially in doing the work of God.
The opening/thanksgiving Mass which was officiated by Most Rev. Anthony Ewherido, had also, Most Rev. Hyacinth Egbebo MSP, of Bomadi Diocese, and Worthy Supreme Chaplain of Ladies of St. Mulumbar, Rev. Fr. Pascal-Paul Okeke, amongst other Priests.
In her welcome address, Lady Felicia Appih, Host President, Benin Metropolitan Council, appreciated all members, invited guests and awardees for their presence and promised a peaceful convention.
Also speaking, the Noble President of the Ladies Knight, Lady Ngozi Anthonia Ogah, called on privilege people in the society to join force with her administration’s Pet Project, “Touch Life One on One” which is aimed at leveraging the hardship faced by some members of the society.
According to Lady Ogah, her target reach is to empower nothing less than four (400) hundred less privilege out of which #250,000.00 will be disbursed to each of the beneficiaries during the program. Meanwhile, Worthy Supreme Knight Nigeria, Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede has also called on all hands to be on deck to support the Ladies Knight pet project.
Present at the reception held at the Jubilee Retreat Centre, Effurun, were the Worthy Metropolitan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Raphael Ogigbah, the monarchs of Uvwie kingdom , HRM (Dr.) Emmanuel Sideso Abe 1 JP, OON, Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM, Ogiame Atuwatse 111 CFR, both represented. Awards were presented to recipients amidst cheers.
