The police in Delta has invited for questioning, a former Commissioner for Higher Education and foremost staunch member of the PDP, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, for questioning over the leadership tussle in Uwheru Community.
Also invited are the President General of Uwheru Kingdom, Chief Macpherson Igbedi, and nine others, all in relation to a recent leadership crisis in Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
The police invitation is coming on the heels of an ongoing conflicts and disagreements between the traditional ruler of Uwheru Kingdom and some leaders on the choice of persons who will occupy the president general seat in the community.
According to the invitation letter, those whose names were mentioned are expected to report to the Delta State Police Command headquarters at Asaba on Monday, September 30, 2024 by 11am.
The police invitation letter, dated September 25, 2024, was addressed to Mr. Obukohwo Ekpevwru and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lucky Adagbon, of the X-Squad Unit. It mentions that the police are investigating the case and requests the presence of several individuals, including Prof. Muoboghare and Chief Igbedi, for an interface with the Commissioner of Police.
The letter lists those invited to include; Macpherson Igbedi, Obukohwo Ojomi, Uruemusin Arhagba, Delta Ajamagran, Orunc Igbedi, Erhinodavwe Emerhivwe, Onoriode Igbedi, Mitain Arhagba, Ahere Emmanuel Okashe (also known as Good & Bad), and Prof. Patrick Muoboghare.
The situation in Uwheru is the latest in a series of tensions in the area. Prof. Muoboghare has since confirmed the police invitation but declined to make further comments on the matter, but whatever maybe the outcome may also be known to the public.
