With less than 45 days to the 2023 general elections, there is strong indications that all may not be well with the candidacy of Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, Member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency at the National Assembly as majority of his not constituents frowned at his candidacy.
This indications became glaring following the reaction of No No No that greeted his introduction during the APC campaign tour to his home local government of Ughelli South which signaled rejection of the Honourable member by his constituents.
The All Progressives Congress APC, had on January 10, 2023 took its campaign train to the local government where they visited Imode/Iyara and Oviri-Olomu with its governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, other candidates and top chieftain’s of the party.
It was reliably gathered that during the introduction of candidates by the state chairman of APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the name of the flag bearer for the constituency who happened to be the incumbent representative, Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, was greeted with; No No No No, as he was shouted down by the angry constituents.
Sources present at the venue also gathered that the teeming supporters of APC in the constituency, alleged that the televangelist cum politician representation has no meaningful impact on the constituency since he was elected into office, accusing him of not been accessible, not generous and often screen shot his account balance to people whenever constituents made any request of financial assistance from him.
Some of the APC supporters and a constituents said; ” We will not vote for Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, because he has not lead by example. We see him as a deceit because he was tell us that there is no money in the National Assembly, but yet he wants to go for second tenure.
“The first time he rode on Omo-Agege’s back to clinch the seat and we so much believed that he will change our lives, but he failed, so this time we are wiser and will do the needful.
“We were ready to humiliate him but one of the top APC chieftain came behind to beg us, but we told him that we don’t want to hear his name because he is a self centered man who believe in himself and family alone.
Hon. Waive who may have felt embarrassed, left the venue early as he was visibly not too pleased when he could not make his speech at the campaign to Oviri-Olomu.
It was observed that the lawmaker left the podium and arena of the rally after the mention of his name by Chief Ede Dafinone, Delta Central Senatorial Candidate as his name was again greeted with another NO, NO NO.
With this attitude of his home constituents, pundits are watching with kin interest how the election into the House of Representative in the constituency is going to look as the PDP opposition is equally facing challenges with their candidates.
