In a press release signed by the Force Public Relations Officer in the State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, revealed that following a distress call from Hausa Market in Asaba to the Command at about 0430hours on Sunday, Sept 11, about some suspicious looking persons using a tricycle in the area

In a statement made available by the commands spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed that on September 5, 2022 at about 1125hrs, operatives attached to Eagle-Net Special Squad while on visibility patrol along Issele-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku road, acting on credible information intercepted a tricycle (Keke) with Delta State Commercial colour Reg. No. AWK 941 QC and tag No. DT/CT/10550B driven by one Anthony Onyekaba ‘m’ of No. 223 Asei Quarters Azagba Ogwashi-Uku with four occupants.
Speaking further, Oboba said following the leadership tussle and to avoid further crisis, HRM, Dr. Oharisi III, Ovie of Ughelli kingdom, instructed the out gone chairman, Mr. Francis Okevvie to keep all properties of the community in the custody of Ofuoma police station pending when the issue is resolved.
Oboba narrated that the case is still in Ughelli Magistrate Court with Suit No. MU/56/2022, restraining the oldest man in the community, Mr. Jackson Uke and others from conducting another election or recognizing any other person rather than Hon. Benjamin Idoghor as the newly elected chairman.
He said that officers of Corps were playing unique roles in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state, saying that he was impressed with the high level of professionalism of officers and men in the command.
A community source who crave anonymity revealed that the crisis which has crippled commercial activities in the area, is a tussle between two prominent indigenes that are poised to control the central executive of the community.
The two suspects, Oti Shevire ‘m’ aged 32years and Amos (surname unknown), upon interrogation, confessed to the crime and led the policemen to their hideout, where the victim was rescued, and is currently receiving treatment. Suspects are in custody and investigation is ongoing.”
“Her colleagues were waiting for her outside as they were looking for customers but they didn’t see her. They now went to knock at her door and it was when they opened the the door that they found her dead in her room,” a source who craved anonymity, said
Continuing the statement adds; “A warrant of arrest has been issued by a magistrate court of Delta State Holden at Asaba Magisterial district against them. They are wanted by the Police for offenses of conspiracy, terrorism, cultism, attempted murder, grievous harm and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace”.
It was gathered that a Toyita Sienna mini bus conveying product suspected to be illegally refines diesel lost control and ran into a parked Dangote truck.
It was learnt that the vehicle was escaping from security operatives when it lost control and ran into the parked truck, causing an explosion.
