Priest of the Roman Catholic Church, last weekend, called on the Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas to run for the forthcoming 2023 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
The officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Chris Ekabo, made the call at the pulpit during the homily of the Funeral Mass of late Barr (Mrs) Lady C.K. Erhuero, wife of Engr James Erhuero, former SSG to Delta State Government at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sapele, Sapele local government area of Delta state.
Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas had served in different capacity as one time Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli North Constituency Ii, during Chief James Onanefe Ibori era as governor. He was Director General of the Delta State Direct Labour Agency under the administration of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan. Agas has also served in the first tenure of Sen. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa as Secretary to the State Government, SSG. He is immediate past Chief Strategist to Delta State Government and presently Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba .
The Catholic priest during the homily said, “The people of Ughelli Federal Constituency where I come from, including myself, Rev. Fr. Chris Ekabo are calling on you, Rt Hon Festus Ovie Agas to come and run for the governorship seat of Delta state under PDP come 2023 general elections.”
The priest said he was happy that prominent leaders of PDP in the state were there when he made the clarion call on the Chief of Staff to Government House, Rt. Hon. Ovie Agas to indicate interest for the 2023 governorship election.
Among those who attended the Funeral Mass of late Barr (Mrs) Lady C.K. Erhuero are former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief B.I.C. Elue, former SSG, Engr James Erhuero, Chief of Staff , Government House, Asaba, Rt Hon Festus Ovie Agas who represented the governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Athur Ifeanyi Okowa
