The trio of the Delta State Commissioner for Information and Spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, the Chairman of the Delta State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and, the Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Mr. Emeka Bidokwu have commended the effort of the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili in building and tastefully furnishing the Legislative Arm of the Council.
The Commissioner said the Chairman had truly interpreted and reproduced the urban renewal concept of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who on March 8, 2021, at the inauguration of the present Council Executive Chairmen across the 25 Local Governments, charged them to focus on urban renewal initiatives of the State Government.
Aniagwu affirmed that Ezenyili had delivered on that mandate, having done more projects than most of his peers within a record time.
According to him, “The Oshimili South Council Chairman has demonstrated capacity in delivering on the people’s mandate and the State Government’s mandate as the headquarters of the State Capital. He has more than anything, demonstrated the zeal and capacity to return to office a second term.
“As you were sworn in on the 8th of March, 2021, by His Excellency, he charged those of you chairmen to focus on urban renewal initiatives of the State Government in developing your Council Areas. As a person, you proceeded to compliment that urban renewal drive of the State Government, and the result is what we have come to witness today.
“You have delivered and indeed, you have given vent to that directive of the Governor. This project you have unveiled today, is a peer review mechanism for other of your colleagues to emulate in doing what the Governor had asked them to do.
“This Legislative complex that you have built is a five star project, because you are a five star man. I am impressed with what I have seen today.
“You have provided an opportunity not just to celebrate your achievements by this project, but to bring leaders to appreciate what good governance is all about. You have raised the bar for the present councillors and those who wish to be one, to work harder to get to this place. And I must advise that showcasing what you have done could become an inspiration for others to emulate. Therefore, you must partner the media going forward, so that the world will come to appreciate the much you are doing and by so doing, celebrate your honest accomplishments”, Aniagwu posited.
On his part, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu said, the Council Chairman had demonstrated commitment and capacity in delivering such a massive people oriented project.
He urged him to continue in his good work and to bear in mind that the world is taking note of his sterling outputs in terms of leadership.
The IPAC Chairman, Mr. Emeka Bidokwu vehemently passed a vote of confidence on the chairman, adding that he deserves a second term having exceeded the expectations of his first term in office.
He revealed that IPAC had closely monitored and observed his activities in the past one year plus and had come to the conclusion that he had done excellently well to deserve their confidence vote.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Ezenyili while addressing the press on the stewardship of his office immediately after a media tour of the new Legislative Complex, thanked God for His grace to fulfill some of his critical plans and promises, and then his business capacity to be able to maximise the little opportunity available to him, to achieve so much in record time.
He also recognised team work as one of the factors he leveraged on to get things done and achieve the immense result that is evident today.
Earlier at the Hallow Chambers of the Legislative Arm of the Local Government, the Leader of the House, Hon. Michael Okonji during plenary, commended the Executive Chairman for bringing his business acumen and wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the Council, thereby giving them mileage in their assignment as lawmakers.
He pledged to continue to work in synergy with the Chairman in the interest of more development for the local government area.
