Tertiary education in Delta State has been promised speedy upliftment and sustainable policies by students and lecturers.
Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, stated this recently, noting that his commitment towards realising the goals of the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration through sustainable tertiary education in the state is sacrosanct.
Tonukari stated this in Asaba while interacting with the staff of the Ministry of Higher Education.
The commissioner expressed gratitude to the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for finding him worthy to serve in his administration, promising to give his best.
He urged the staff of the ministry to redouble their efforts for effective service delivery, saying that he would carry them along and ensure their welfare, even as he called for the uplifting of tertiary education in the state through commitment and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary (PS) in the ministry, Dr. Anthony Nwokolobia, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment.
Represented by the Director of Educational Services, Mrs Bridget Odobor, the permanent secretary assured that the entire staff of the ministry would give the commissioner the full support to excel in his assignments
