…As Police Arrest Armed Robbers, Kidnappers In Jeddo
The Delta State Police Command have arrested one Victor Edavwe ‘m’, the Youth President of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State with an AK-47 rifle.
In a statement made available by the Commands Spoke person, SP. Bright Edafe, revealed that at about 1030 hours on March 15, 2025, the DPO Ekpan Police station, CSP Aliyu Shaba, received information about the suspect acquiring an Ak-47 rifle recently.
According to the statement, the DPO mobilized and led operatives to Shrine Street in Ekpan where the suspect Victor Edavwe was arrested and taken to the Police station for questioning. During interrogation, the suspects gave useful information that corroborated the intelligence earlier gathered and led the operatives to the house of one Efe (surname unknown) A.K.A ‘Eteyomo’ and a search was conducted in the premises during which one AK-47 rifle, one single barrel gun, three cutlasses, two daggers and Forty-four rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition wrapped in a black sack and concealed on the roof of the sitting room were recovered.
The suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
In a similar operation, the police in Ekpan also through intelligence gathered raided some black spots in Jeddo, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The statement noted that on the March 16, 2025, at about 1600hours, the DPO Ekpan Police station while acting on intelligence gathered on the criminal activities of kidnappers, armed robbers around Jeddo axis of Okpe LGA, led operatives of Ekpan police station and arrested one Endurance Oghoghome ‘m’ (38) of Umukoro street, Blessing Oghoghome ‘m’ (46), one Marvellous Dissy ‘m’ (43) and Jonas Orogho ‘m’ (38). The suspects upon preliminary investigation led the policemen to their hideout in Jeddo community and a search warrant was executed on the premises. During the search one automatic English pump action gun, two locally made single barrel guns, one locally fabricated Beretta pistol, one locally made cut-to-size gun, and a live cartridge were recovered.
The suspects and exhibit are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.m
The Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda commended the DPO and his men for their dedication and commitment while reiterating that the people of Jeddo community have reached out to the command appreciating their effort, noting that they can now breathe a sigh of relief due to the arrest of these suspects.
