WARRI, DELTA STATE: Promoter and National Coordinator of Center For Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has commended members of the Local Organising Committee LOC, of the Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup Tournament, Former Super Eagle players, Traditional rulers of different kingdoms for their supports and encouragement in achieving a positive results for the sporting event that climaxed recently.
The renowned peace and environmental justice advocate, in a statement noted, that without the LOC commitment, dedication, supports and cooperations from notable personalities including the monarchs, positive results wouldn’t have been achieved.
Mulade added that no competition is totally free of some hiccups and challenges, but admitted that as an organizers, some positive lessons that would enhanced the planning of the next edition which will Kick-Off on November 16, 2026 has been learned.
Comrade Mulade thanks members of the LOC and particularly, Hon Kenneth Nwaomucha, the immediate-past Chairman of Delta State Football Association (DFA) who sacrificed and created time to ensure the successes of the tournament. He equally appreciated Ex-Super Eagles Players Peter Rufai, Edema Fuludu and Sam Sodje who are his partners as well as various ethnic groups and participating teams for joining and supporting the sustainable peaceful coexistence and promoting cultural diversity in Delta State.
While thanking the monarchs, Mulade appreciated the Okpe monarch who is also the Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, and The Paramount Ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom and Chairman, Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum; The Olu of Warri Kingdom, The Odion-Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom and Chairman, Isoko Traditional Rulers Forum; His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe – Agadagba, A.k.A The Monarch of Niger Delta, the Pere of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and other notable individuals for your encouragement and support towards fostering harmony and peaceful co-existence among the various ethnic groups and youths in the state.
Mulade who is also the Ibe-Sorimowei of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and sponsor of the Delta State Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup, further called for sustainability of peace and unity towards creating an enabling environment for His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O Oborevwori to deliver on his electioneering promises for the benefits of all Deltans.
