Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme has assured prospective Nursing students that admmision into the State Colleges of Nursing Sciences would be merit based.
The Commissioner gave the assurance in a statement at the weekend cautioning prospective Nursing students to guard against cutting corners as admissions into the schools were merit based.
“The attention of the Delta State Ministry of Health has been drawn to the fraudulent activity of one Barrister Barry who has been going about collecting monies from unsuspecting persons on the grounds of providing them with admission into the 2024/2025 Session in the State’s colleges of Nursing Sciences.
Parents, prospecting students and members of the public are warned not to have any dealings with the said Barrister Barry as he is not a Staff of the Ministry nor any of the Colleges.
“Anyone fronting as an agent to any Staff of the Ministry, Colleges or Government official with a promise to provide candidates with admissions should desist forthwith, failing which the State government would not spare anyone caught but such will face the full wrath of the law.
“The statement emphasized that admissions into the State’s colleges of Nursing Sciences would be merit-based hence candidates who bought common entrance forms are advised to prepare hard as only those who meet the cut off mark will be granted admission.”
