The Delta State House of Assembly joint Committees on Housing, Women Affairs, Girl Child Enterpreneuship and Humanitarian Support Services and Special Committee on Bills, has summited its report on the Delta State Persons Living with Disabilities Bill.
The House at its Wednesdays plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor received the report of the joint committee for further legislative actions.
Motion for the receipt of the report was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, seconded by the member representing lka North East constituency Hon Marilyn Okowa-Daramola and adopted.
The Speaker Rt. Hon Emomotimi Guwor, ruled that the report would be considered at Committee of the Whole House on Tuesday March 12.
Earlier, the Chairman, House Committee on Housing, Women Affairs, Girl Child Enterprrneuship and Humanitarian Support Services, Hon Bridget Anyafulu, while presenting the joint committee report, said towards achieving its assignment, the joint committees held a public hearing on the Bill on Monday February 26, were it received memoranda from interested stakeholders, including contributions and presentations which aided it’s assignment.
Anyafulu who represents Oshimili South in the House, explained that after thorough consideration of the relevant materials and facts, the committee proposed some amendments for further deliberations and possible approval by the House.
