The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Delta State PDP gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general elections, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed shock and pain over the sudden passing of the Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Mr. Daniel Ighedo, who died at the wee hours of today, Tuesday 8, November, 2022.
In a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dennis Otu, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori noted that the demise of Mr. Ighedo still remained baffling and shocking.
According to the Speaker: ” This seems like a bad dream yet it’s true. What a huge loss, not only to his family, Uvwie Local Government Council, the Uvwie Kingdom but to the entire PDP family.
” Until his death, he was a promising young man, loyal party member and a jolly good fellow. We will miss him greatly. He was an incredible grassroots politician and was sure to grow politically.”
The statement further added that Mr. Ighedo, who in the past represented Delta Central on the state’s Waste Management Board served creditably, before becoming Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Council.
The PDP Governorship candidate urged the family, Ekpan community where Ighedo hails from, Uvwie Local Government Council and political associates to take solace in the values of loyalty, perseverance, diligence and dedication, which the late vice chairman represented during his life time.
He prayed that God should grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant Ighedo’s soul eternal rest.
