The General Manager of Delta Queens FC, Hon. Chief Awhana Alakis Mercy and her management team, on Tuesday 28th January, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Alh. Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba IV, the Emir of Mai Tangale in Gombe State.
This visit was in connection with her far back relationship when they were in school in Government Day Secondary School Yola 42 years ago. She also took the opportunity to chat about Delta Queens Fc upcoming football match against the Adamawa Queens FC.
His Royal Highness , Alh. Danladi Sanusi, is a first class Emir who believes in the Education of the girl child, He initiated the Agile Adolescent Girls Initiative for learning and Empowerment, with the Objective to improve secondary Education Opportunities among the girl child.
The Emir was full of excitement and congratulated Chief Alakis on her recent appointment as General Manager of Delta Queens Fc Asaba, and prayed that her Delta Queens team will come out victorious in their match at Gombe. He charges the team to remain focus on what they have been trained by their coaches, as victory is sure for them.
It was indeed a great reunion of both school mates and best of friends. The meeting also focused on promoting the game of female football and discussing the importance of sports in bringing people together. Plus, having royal support and blessings for the Delta Queens Fc to be victorious in their match against the Adamawa Queens Fc.
Chief Alakis, who was frank by her team Secretary, Joy Oyibo Evwomazino, and her Media Manager, Austin Akanigha, highlighted how the team has enjoyed loadable support from His Excellency Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and that His Excellency M.O.R.E. Agenda has impacted positively on the M.O.R.E. Queens, as the 8th time NWFL Champions is now focus on giving more to achieve the ambition of qualifying for the super six and winning the NWFL trophy this season. She added by disclosing to the King, the positive impact of the Sports Commission Chairman, Mr Onoriode Oborevwori and the Director General of the Commission, Mr Festus Ohwojero for their strategic support and commitment to the MORE Queens.
