Following the recent submission of the NDDC Forensic Audit Committee report, Niger Delta Ex Militant has come out against President Muhammadu Buhari over his unnecessary delay to inaugurate the already screened NDDC Board for relative peace and the common interest of the Niger Delta region.
The Niger Delta Ex militant, General Solomon Adu who addressed newsmen in Warri yesterday, said since the forensic audit committee had completed its report that he doesn’t see any reason holding back President Buhari from inaugurating the appointees already screened and confirmed on November 5, 2019, by the senate.
General Solomon Adu had explained that the only obstacle that has been a major bloccade before now was the Forensic Audit Committee, but now that the committee had completed its assignment and submitted to Mr. President it is now glaring for Buhari to affirm the already screened appointees for the board to swing into action.
While advising the Buhari led administration to urgently do the needful by swearing in the senate screened appointees, General Solomon Adu said if the present government shows nonchalant attitude towards the inauguration of the NDDC board, it should also be ready to face the wrought of the land and throw of off the sustainable and relative peace the region has been offering federal government.
The Ex militant General Adu said, “Now that Forensic Audit Committee is done, nobody is needed to remind President Muhammadu Buhari that the long awaited time has come to an end since that was the only reason the constitution of the board was being delayed but now that the forensic audit committee is done, there isn’t any need to delay the inauguration.
“Buhari should give peace a chance and go ahead to do what is right since the Forensic Audit Committee is already off the track and even if there are some gray areas, it shouldn’t stop the board from operating after all there was an administrator overseeing the affairs of the commission while the Forensic Audit Committee was doing their job, so it wasn’t an obstacle.
“l will strongly call on the president to avoid what he can avoid for the purpose of peace and the interest of the people of the Niger Delta, hence we will continue to implore him to be fair and just to all tribes in the region and inaugurate the screened NDDC board for the overall development of the people of the region.”
