The family of the late Elder Statesman and foremost Ijaw National Leader, Late Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has fixed May 13, 2025, as his burial date.
The burial date of the former Federal Commissioner for Information, was made known by his eldest son, Mr. Penaowei Clark, at his country home Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA, Delta State, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, flanked by late Chief Clark younger brother, Prof. Collins College Clark, HRM, Prince Samuel Akpomiemie Fuludu, Ogiogio 11, Pere of Ngbilebiri Mein Kingdom, Kiagbodo, Chief Ebikeme Clark, his Sister and other family members.
According to the programme made available to Journalists by Mr. Penaowei Clark, the burial ceremony will begin on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, with a lecture at the NAF Conference Centre & Suite, Abuja by 11am.
The programme will continue on Thursday, May 8, 2025, with a Valedictory Session at the Senate Chambers at 11am, while on Friday, May 9, 2025, will serve as a day of Tribute at the NAF Conference Centre & Suites, Abuja at 3pm.

The burial programme further revealed that there will be a wrestling contest on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
The Service of Songs for the late PANDEF leader, will be held at St. James’ Anglican Church, at No. 39, Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro, Abuja at 5pm. It added, that Sunday, May 11, 2025, there will be a Boat Regatta and Port Harcourt Masquerade in honour of the late statesman and also a candlelight memorial at Yenagoa, Kiagbodo while Abuja will be at No. 43, Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro, Abuja by 7pm-8pm.
Continuing, on Monday, May 12, 2025, will be a commendation service at the National Christian Centre, Abuja at 8am. Meanwhile, there will be a Valedictory Court Session holding simultaneously in the High Court of Justice, Warri, Delta State, by 10am.
The body of Pa. Edwin Clark will depart Abuja for Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by 10:30am for a commendation service at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State between 1:20pm to 2:30pmBody departs from Abuja to Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by 1:30-2:30pm. The body will then depart Yenagoa for Warri, Delta State, by 2:30pm for lying in state at No. 5, Swamp Road, Warri, Delta State. The body will again departs for his home town Kiagbodo for a Service of Songs and all-night vigil.
Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10am-10:30am is scheduled for the Lying in state at Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo Town, Delta State and this will be followed by the commendation service at Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo, Delta State. The funeral service for Pa. Clark will take place at 11am and at 1pm, guests will be treated to reception, while at 5pm, there will be interment and an all-night vigil.
