An APC stalwart and one time aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress APC, in Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon. Innocent Umukoro has warned the PDP to desist from condemning the Deputy President of the Senate, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege for citing Federal institutions he attracted in his community, Orogun.
Hon. Innocent Umukoro reacting to several social media publications by the PDP accusing Omo-Agege for citing Federal projects attracted by him in his community said, it is not a new thing as several PDP members have done same.
In his words; Who attracted the Delta State College of Physical Education to Mososgar and who cited the Delta State Teaching Hospital at Oghara? Who took the Delta University to Agbor? Who took Teachers Institute to his home town and as well Road Safety Institute to his home town amongst others? Stop condemning others when you have done same he warned.
He maintained that PDP has lost it in the state and have nothing to tell Deltans, hence they are like a drowning man who would want to hold on to anything to survive.
“You can see they have been using their cronies to write here and there saying all sorts of unfounded allegations against the person of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Now how many of them can do what he has done, he queried. Many of them could have pocketed the money instead of bringing the project to benefit their constituents, but the Delta Central Senator brought it home amongst other major projects that have benefitted the Urhobo land.
“Okowa was a senator for four years, what was his achievements except for his selfish purposes, he asked”.
Hon. Umukoro who also accused the PDP of gross embezzlement of state funds and poor development in Delta State, alleged a situation were the PDP is trying to blackmail their opponent who is far ahead of them. He said it is a situation were the black is referring to the white as black.
He reiterated that the PDP administration have done more damage to the state, adding that even if the statement of Governor Wike of River State is incorrect as the state government has said, but asked what he used the little money the governor clain he received to do, or if the project is commensurable to what is given to the state.
Umukoro urged the opponent to campaign base on tangible, visible and accessible achievements, but not those things that cannot be seen.
“Omo-Agege is factual. He is pointing to his achievements so far as a senator. He is not the first to represent Delta Central but he is the first to make a difference. Beside, he has done a lot as you can see what he brought to his people”.
He called on Deltans to ignore the cheap blackmail and unachievable promises of the PDP candidate and vote Senator Omo-Agege come 2023 as a governor who will transform and develop Delta state, noting that those hired to attack Omo-Agege at the moment are nothing but corrupt cronies of the Okowa government.
Umokoro also stated that Delta State is too important for tout to govern as Omo-Agege is sound, educated and has what it takes to bring in good governance to the people of Delta state.
