It is another sad Sunday for Catholics in Nigeria as one of her priests, Very Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Tarhembe, of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, in Taraba State was abducted from his parish rectory in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023.
According to a release signed by Rev. Fr. John Jerome Laikei, Director of Communications in the Diocese and posted in the Facebook page of Rev. Fr. Moses Idris, reads; ” I am directed by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, Most Rev. Mark Nzukwein to inform the general public of the kidnap of one of our priests, Very Rec. Fr. Thaddeus Tarhembe. The sad event occured in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023 in the Rev. Fathers Rectory of his parish”.
Very Rev. Fr. Tarhembe until his abduction was the pariah priest of St. Ann’s Catholic parish, Durkin Kudu in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.
It was however not disclosed how his abductors gained entry into his apartment, but the bishop has called for prayers and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary for his immediate and safe release.
