The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ughelli Correspondent Chapel of the Delta State NUJ Council, on Friday, August 19, 2022, inaugurated new executives that will pilot the affairs of the Chapel in the next three years.
The inauguration was supervised by delegates from the state Council which included the Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ ), Delta State Council, Comrade Felix Ekwu and the State Vice Chairman of the Council, Comrade Salvation Ogono.
Those inaugurated included Comrade (Chief ) Sunday Apah ( Chairman ), Comrade Kparobor Eghwubare ( Vice Chairman), Comrade Hezekiah Ovedhe ( Secretary ) Comrade Ghenero Efenure (Assistant Secretary), Comrade Omamuzo Efidhere (Treasurer ), Comrade Monica Ogbaudu (Financial Secretary) and Comrade Godwin Ukane (Auditor).
The Chairman of the Credentials Committee of the chapel, Comrade Moses Omovevah, stated, among other things, that all the inaugurated executive members of the chapel were duly screened, qualified and returned unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Comrade Apah, on behalf of others, thanked members for their support and promised to operate an open door system of administration where every member would be carried along.
Comrade Apah solicited for the continued support of members to enable his committee take the chapel to greater heights.
In his keynote address, Comrade Salvation Ogono, Vice Chairman of the Delta NUJ State Council, who led the Delta State NUJ Council delegates to the event, congratulated the new executives and urged them to carry every member along, just as he enjoined members to support the new executive committee of the chapel.
Delegates from the State Council includes the State Council Vice Chairman, Comrade Salvation Ogono, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Felix Ekwu and the Auditor of the State Council, Comrade Celestine Afokoba.
