Eligible voters in the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, has protested the late arrival of INEC officials and voting materials in their various Wards and Units.
At Bowen avenue Ward 6 Unit 10, the INEC officials arrived with voting materials at about 5:30pm only to meet passionate voters.
However, the the mammoth crowd of voters’ excitement was short-lived as the officials not only attended with insufficient voting materials, but abandoned the BVAs machines for manuel method to the bewilderment of prospective voters which ignited the peaceful protest.
As at 7:00pm when reporters left the venue, voting was still on going without electricity.
It was alleged that a lot of rigging took place as electorates accused INEC officials of connivance with some party and politicians to disenfranchised potential voters in order to manipulate the system.
