Speaking to them motivationally before the commencement of the programme, the State Chairperson of SWS and Functioning Permanent Secretary in the State Orientation Bureau, Mrs. Stella Macaulay told the women not to be depressed about their present circumstance orchestrated by the flood disaster that ravaged their homes and farmlands, asking them to instead, look up to God for help and direction.

“In 2023, we propose to spend N111.4 billion on Works, N5.9 billion for Urban Renewal – Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, N8.3 billion and Warri-Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, N8 billion.
“Others include N12.4 billion for Health; Education, N42.6 billion; Trade and Investment, N8.6 billion; Sports N8.4 billion; Culture and Tourism, N2.7 billion and Housing, N10 billion.

Hon. Oyabebefa who was reacting over a flood relief funds giving to Ogbolubiri ward in Burutu Constituency by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa last year, but was unduly appropriated by the lawmaker representing their constituency his cronies, further warned those using monies met to develop and empower the people to enrich themselves to desist from it or further be exposed.

And now he wants to handover to his stooge, Speaker Sheriff Francis Oborevwori whose House which he heads, approved every kobo that was wasted and stolen to protect himself from accountability. For the years of Sheriff’s speakership, the Delta State House of Assembly has been a rubber stamp, giving everything Okowa asks for without effective oversight, thereby undermining the entire idea of the Separation of Powers enshrined in our Constitution as well as weakening our democracy.

Mr. Siakpere, who is also the Convener and National Coordinator of the Siakpere Team Support for Sheriff Oborevwori, a major political pressure group, rooting for the election of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly in the March 2023 governorship election, in the state, praised the Supreme Court for dismissing the appeal brought before it by his opponent, Chief David Edevbie, in the PDP gubernatorial primary election.
