The money which came as part of the insurance of the Inspector General of Police welfare scheme, was issued to the Next of Kins of seven deceased officers whose families benefited. 
Presenting the cheques to the Next of Kins of  the fallen officers, the Commissioner of police appreciated the gesture exhibited by the IGP as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also to let them know that though their loved ones are no more, the force did not forget their sacrifices in a hurry.

In a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Dennis Otu, the State PDP Governorship Candidate lamented the sudden death of Rt. Hon. Afuye, describing his death as a huge loss not only to his family, wife and children but also to the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, where he was an active and committed member.

Dancing emotionally with this group of people to the site of the Royal Residence being constructed for her by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and then back to the Palace, Omu Dunkwu took time to recount her journey of life.

He said, the speaker and his running mate is most concerned about their plight, and moved by this, they have come to support them with the little they have.
“The team Sheriff/Onyeme is aware of the devastating effects of the flood, and by the grace of God, we will all overcome it. But government cannot fold its hands and allow the people to suffer”. 

Addressing newsmen at Mariere Primary school, Evwreni the senatorial hopeful said, that his visit was to get first-hand information on the plight of his people and to bring material to support the collective efforts to bring succour to the victims.

“The court held that the fact that Tebite did not participate in the rerun and therefore does not have the power to question the rerun, and that the argument by Ahwinahwi does not hold water because the cases cited by Ahwinahwi; it was only one election that was conducted, but in this case, PDP conducted two separate elections, one was conducted on May 22 and the other on May 30, 2022. So the cited cases does not apply to this case.

Chief Hon. Tebite, is regarded as a pragmatic, dynamic and accessible leader who believes in grassroot politics. Twice he was a member representing his Constituency at the State level and he was considered as one of the best hands after the late Senator Pius Akpo Ewherido.
