Ahead of the July 13, local government council elections, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ughelli South Local Government Area have urged electorates in the area to cast their votes for Hon. Dr. Lucky Avweromre for the position of council chairman.
Leader of the party in the local government area, Olorogun John Oguma, Hon. Festus Utuama, Member, DTHA, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General and chairman of the campaign, Peter Mrakpor SAN, Executive Director of Projects at DESOPADEC and Director General of the campaign, Olorogun Taleb Tebite and Chief Michael Oshetigho, the PDP Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, made this appeal at Ekakpamre Ward on Sunday.
They emphasized that every party member who contributed to the party’s efforts will be included in the benefits.
They spoke highly of Hon. Dr. Lucky Avweromre and the councilorship candidates running across the 20 wards, portraying them as individuals of high qualification and impeccable character.
In his remarks, Hon. Dr. Lucky Avweromre, the PDP candidate for chairmanship, accompanied by his running mate, Hon. Happiness Umukoro, highlighted his academic background, having graduated with a degree in Political Science, a master’s degree in Political Science, and a PhD in Political Science.
According to him, “In addition to my academic qualifications, I have served as the pioneer leader of the Ughelli South Local Government Council Legislative Arm, and have held previous positions such as Deputy Chief of Staff and other appointive roles. As a result, I possess the necessary qualifications and experience to lead effectively.
He emphasized that his administration aims to bring positive change to the residents of Ughelli South Local Government Area, ensuring that the interests of youths, women, elders, and all constituents are considered.
Earlier, key party leaders in Ekakpamre Ward, including Mr. Simon Umudi, also known as Temple, Prince Evuetapha, Olorogun Patrick Onajophe aka Manager, Mr. Ojays Ojigho, Chief Solomon Ala, Chief Isaac Egbi, Hon. Happy Gbeke, Chief Abraham Erhuen, Mr. Apoe Mukoro, and others, expressed their commitment to rallying ward members to vote overwhelmingly for the PDP in the upcoming July 13, 2024 local government election.
They encouraged the PDP candidate to prioritize the equitable distribution of democratic dividends across the various communities within the ward, thereby transforming the existing narrative for the better.
