This were the exact words to described the embattled former Nigerian Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Mike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice absence from their son, Lloyd wedding on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
Lloyd got married to his hearthrob, Tiffany in Abuja on Saturday.
According to The Nation, top chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) including three former Senate Presidents – Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki – and PDP governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, among others, stood in for Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice.
Ekweremadu, who represented Enugu West senatorial district in the Senate for about two decades, is being held in a UK prison with his wife Beatrice after they were found guilty of organ trafficking and sentenced to different jail terms in May, 2023.
It could be recalled that a UK Court sentenced the former Deputy Senate President and PDP chieftain to nine years and eight months in prison.
The court also sentenced Beatrice to four years and six months in prison while a doctor who allegedly colluded with them, Obinna Obeta, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Though being in prison is not the end of life, the son have decided to accept his fate and carry on with life.
