… Okowa Appoints Five New Commissioners

Ahead of the 2023 general elections Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Patrick Muogboghare, has resigned his appointment from the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration.
Muogboghare, one of the most audacious appointee has of the administration has been so active in the education sector of the Delta state government for about ten years and has also been a pragmatic union leader as a one-time chairman of the Academic Staff of Universities (ASUU), Delta State University, Abraka branch.
He also served in the second tenure of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.
Also during the first tenure of Give. Okowa in 2015, Muogboghare was appointed a consultant on Education Matters to the administration for four years.
In 2019 when Okowa was re-elected for a second term, he appointed the Uwheru-born professor as Commissioner for Higher Education, a position held for more than three years.
Confirming his exit from the Okowa administration, Muogboghare in a phone chat with NewsNet Nigeria said, “I thoroughly enjoyed working with the administration for seven years, four years as consultant and three years plus commissioner”.
Meanwhile, Governor Okowa on Tuesday announced Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, as the new Commissioner for Higher Education during the swearing-in of five new commissioners into the Delta State Executive Council.
