Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has put smiles on the faces of poor widows and orphans in his state as he gifts them with cash and food items.
About 130 widows and orphans smiled home with a One Hundred Thousand naira(#100,000.00) each as capital to enable them start their own businesses.
The Governor equally empowered over 100 orphans with N5000 each, alongside bags of rice to support them towards improving their livelihoods.
He personally distributed the cash and rice to the beneficiaries, at his Gudi country home, in Akwanga Local Government Area at the weekend.
He urged beneficiaries drawn from his immediate community of Gudi to utilize the money by engaging in businesses that will improve their condition of living.
Engineer Sule used the opportunity to make clarifications on the challenges being encountered by about 40 of the beneficiaries who were made to open new bank accounts in order to receive the largess.
It would be recalled that since inception of his administration in 2019, Governor Abdullahi Sule developed keen interest in alleviating poverty aside his deliberate efforts to improving the welfare of the state civil servants, as workers no longer complaint of non payment of salaries.
