…Tebite Calls For Support To Oborevwori’s Administration

Leaders and members of the National Council Of Women Society (NCSW) Ughelli South Chapter, on January 31, 2024, paid the Executive Director of Projects, DESOPADEC, Hon. Olorogun. Taleb Tebite JP, a congratulatory/appreciation visit on his appointment to the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC, and as well to felicitate him on his birth anniversary.
The delegation was led by its immediate past President, Hon. Mrs. Victoria Jowah, who is also the Vice Chairman, Ughelli South Local Government Area, and accompanied by the incumbent President, Mrs. Ayovuare Elizabeth, the Secretary, Mrs. Silver Juliana, and others. The women expressed their profound joy and gratitude for the appointment of Olorogun Hon. Tebite whom they described as a leader with an open hearts.
In a congratulatory/appreciation letter presented, the Women Council described the EDP as a pillar of support to the society and humanity in general.
“You have been so supportive to us and all our programs. You have always been there even when you were still in the State House of Assembly, and your immense support to us has made our chapter in Ughelli South the most vibrant and outstanding.”
They however appealed for more financial support in order to achieve their various programs and projects lined up for women and the girl child in the local government.
“We appeal to you to consider us with some slots in the forthcoming empowerment scheme of the board so that, some of our women and especially the girls can benefit.”
Responding, Hon. Tebite appreciated the women for their love and kindness and for deeming it fit to come and celebrate with him on his appointment and birthday which has just past. He thanked them for their supports and the pivotal roles they had always played since he began his political journey in Ughelli South, and promised to always try his best to give out whatever he has received on behalf of the people.
“I am not always happy seeing the less privileged people suffering, so whatever dividends of democracy that is due them, I won’t hesitate in ensuring it gets to them.
“I must commend you people for your dedication to championing women’s causes, promoting gender equality and empowerment, and improving socioeconomic opportunities for women and the girl child holistically.”
Tebite, while lauding the NCWS for their numerous contributions to women’s rights and empowerment, commended their pioneering advocacy, education, and empowerment programmes that have liberated women from the shackles of inequalities and discrimination. He noted that members of the NCSW in Ughelli South are Women of great political repute, hence they have always come out as the most vibrant and outstanding in the state.
Thanking the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa, that found him worthy to occupy the seat of the Executive Director Projects of the board in the midst of other notable politicians and qualified hands, Tebite called on the women to continually support the Governor Sheriff MORE agenda and assures them of great benefits.
He promised to always do his best to support the women and the PDP in Ughelli South Local Government Area, as he also praised the NCWS’s role in reshaping morals in the society and other laudable initiatives which has positively impacted grassroots communities
