Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, has felicitated with the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Sir Festus Ahon as he clocks one year in office.
Mr Nwaeke in a statement made available to newsmen, rejoiced with Sir Ahon on the one year anniversary of his appointment as the CPS to Rt Hon Oborevwori.
Nwaeke explained that as a CPS too, with his knowledge of the demands of the position and as a close ally, he has every reason to join Sir Ahon to celebrate the one year milestone as the Governor’s Spokesman.
The Speaker’s CPS prayed to God to grant the Governor’s CPS the wherewithal to remain focused and productive in line with the vision of his Principal.
“Just like yesterday, it is already one year. We were together all through that 29 May 2023. We had agreed that I will drive us, so I picked him from his house that morning to the Asaba Stadium for the swearing in ceremony of the Governor-elect who we met with briefly before we retired to the Press section at the crowded stadium.
“After the swearing in ceremony, as we were walking to the spot where I had parked my car, His Excellency’s convoy pulled through the heavy traffic and we waved at the vehicle. In less than ten minutes while inside my vehicle, trying to put together the reports of the swearing in ceremony, a call came into Ahon’s phone and the caller said “Congratulations on your appointment as Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
“We had dismissed the caller, thinking it was a prank but we later confirmed it to be true. His Excellency, the Governor on his part after the handing over formalities at Government House told me that he has appointed my friend and brother his Chief Press Secretary.
“So I rejoice with Festus Ahon this day on his one year in that office and pray to God for continuous protections and guidance. I know that the task before him is enormous and requires all the support”, Nwaeke stated.
Guwor’s CPS expressed joy over the sound synergy between their Bosses, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, saying that the development will further enhance the friendship, brotherhood and camaraderie that had existed between him and Sir Ahon.
