The new executive of the foremost Ndokwa sociocultural organisation, Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), has said that the union would ensure greater development of the Ndokwa Nation in Delta State.
The President General of NNU, Brig. Gen. Mike Ndubisi (rtd), who disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, the state capital, said that the union would build a complex to be named ” The Ndokwa House”, restore peace and security and attract higher institutions of learning to the area.
He said that the executive would also liaise with oil and other companies operating in Ndokwa Land in the discharge of their corporate social responsibilities to their host communities in the area.
Ndubisi, who said that the above blueprints were part of the strategic plan submitted to the Stakeholders Forum, held on April 3, 2021 at Umusadege in Kwale after their historic election two months earlier, stressed that “this all important issue of ‘Ndokwa House’ is long overdue, assuring that “his administration will build upon previous efforts and in no distant time deliver this long expectant ‘baby’ to the people.”
The President General who accepted the fact that without peace there could hardly be any meaningful development, said that it was as a result of that realisation that the union was poised to get rid of cleavages, factions, cliques, camps and other divisive tendencies to enthrone the much needed unity, peace and security in Ndokwa Nation.
Ndubisi also hinted the need for a higher education of learning in Ndokwa Land when he said that “The Ndokwa nation needs at least one higher education of repute. It was as a result of this that we viewed the recent establishment of three universities by the Delta State Government without considering any being cited in Ndokwa Land as not being too good for us.”
He added that “notwithstanding, we are determined more than ever before now to ensure that Ndokwa Nation gets a federal higher institution soonest.”
On security, the President General urged all and sundry, especially the security agencies to up their game to ensure that every Nigerians, including residents sleep with their two
eyes closed.
While appealing to all illustrious sons and daughters of Ndokwa Nation to rally round the union to ensure speedy development, he called for his predecessors, especially the immediate past, to completely handover the affairs of the union to the new executive in order to ensure a smooth takeoff.
