The political atmosphere in Delta yesterday turned into an undiscribable lyrics when the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter stormed the State.
This may not be unconnected with the initial imbroglio surrounding the under estimated visit of the Obi/Dati rally in Delta state
The Obi/Dati movement redefined the earlier assumption that Delta is exclusively a PDP State.
The Commissioner for Information and Atiku’s Spokesperson, Mr. Charles Aniagwu gasped for breath while trying to defend the indefensible concerning the approval of LP rally Venue.
It was reliably gathered that the earlier plan was to deny LP of a sizeable venue for the Obi rally but for the media reaction of Prof. Pat Utomi on the refusal of the Delta State Government to give approval for Obi/Dati movement in Delta.
Several attempts made to speak to Commissioner for Information, Aniagwu were rebuff.
Despite these hiccups by the State government, Obi/Dati visit has changed the political equation of Delta State. The era of basking on the euphoria of incident form is gone.
Deltans who have been clamouring for a change in the State, troopped out en-masse to give the Obi/Dati movement a stamp-seal.
However, the cross section of Deltans spoken to after the rally said that the hope of free, fair, credible election lies with INEC piloted by Professor Yakubu Manhood.
Yakubu, however, for the uptenth has reiterated his stands on BIVAS and IREV.
