Executive Assistant To Delta State Governor on Orientation and Communications, Barr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has applauded the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for cutting cost of governance.
The EA made these statements in Asaba during a media interaction with members and executives of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel ICC, of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ, Delta State Council at its “ICC MIRROR” platform designed for expository dialalogue.
Latimore said high cost of Governance is one major factor crumbling the local economy and hindering growth in the country. He noted thst Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori has put himself forward to ensure that he sees to the reduction of running a thriving government by minimizing wasteful spending in the state, and as far as going the extent of slashing over priced contracts before approval.
The EA Orientation equally disclosed that the state governor has not borrowed a dime to fund any project, but jej has rather managed what the state generates meticulously and as well increased the IGR by capturing the informal sector.
Latimore further assured of the manifestation of the MORE Agenda very soon, stating that by the end of the year people will see positive changes in the state.
While commending the press for standing by him in times of crisis, and appealed to Journalists to be factual im their reportage instead of working with speculations, adding that Journalists should bring forth constructive criticisms and precision journalism to the people and not confuse them more.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman ICC, Comrade Kenneth Orusi, commended the EA for the visit and for being a guest at the ICC MIRROR Platform.
He assured the Government of its members support but also stated that they will not hesitate in calling its attention in lagging areas.
