Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s two weeks promised to demarcate the disputed boundaries between them(Aladja) and Ogbe-Ijoh Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area have passed.
President of Aladja Community Council, Comrade Shell Okakotu GodFirst made the assertion in a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
White noting that bulldozers sent in by the State Government cleared the disputed boundary, Comrade GodFirst said weeds has over taken the whole place again as a result of the delays by the governor.
Comrade GodFirst stressed that the people of Aladja Community are tired of fighting with Ogbe-Ijoh Community,their neighbour and brothers.
He urged Governor Oborevwori to take urgent steps to demarcate the land once and for all without playing politics with the issue like his predecessor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
According to Comrade GodFirst,”Governor Oborevwori should follow the “White Paper” report to the latter in the interest of peace and demarcate the land”.
He said he really wants the people of Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities to live in peace and unity as one people irrespective of tribes.
Comrade GodFirst said the curfew imposed on the people of Aladja Community is biting on them pointing out they no longer move freely in their own land. He said the people are angry as a result of the development (curfew).
It would be recalled that Governor Oborevwori recently visited Aladja Community recently where he promised to demarcate the disputed boundary within a space of two weeks
