Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, has been declared winner of the Ethiope East Local Government Chairmanship primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Hon. Anthony Isikuru, the PDP returning officer to Ethiope East LGA, declared Hon. Chief. Augustine Ogedegbe as the party flag bearer and candidate of the party in the forthcoming local government council elections having satisfied all necessary requirements.
Addressing members before the election, Hon. Anthony Isikuru appealed to members to comport themselves in the spirit of love and unity and according to the rules and regulations of the party. He said, no matter what, someone must emerged and whoever emerged will be the party choice, and urged others to stand by him in the interest of the party.
In his acceptance speech, Ogedegbe expressed gratitude to God, the party leaders, delegates, party members and supporters who believed in his vision and leadership. He acknowledged the collective efforts that led to his victory and emphasized that the real work of leadership has begun.
He however assured of readiness run an inclusive government, noting that every voice in Ethiope East will matter in his administration. He also solicit the supports of all in his administration, promising to run a transparent government if emerged winner at the general elections.
Ogedegbe called on all party members to unite for the greater good of Ethiope East as the primary elections is over, stressing that it is time to come together to win the council election in order to achieve the common goal of development and prosperity for all residents.
