Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Elder Godwin Ogorugba, has charged the management and staff of the local government to brace up to the task of making life better for the people in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda.
The Chairman gave the charge, Tuesday, in Ozoro when he met with management and staff of the Local Government Council on his assumption of duty.
The ceremony, which held at the Council Chamber, was attended by party leaders, elected councilors, and religious leaders.
In his address, Elder Godwin Ogorugba thanked the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Sir Augustine Onokpasa and the council staff for their efforts in maintaining council operations over the past few months assuring that his administration would be inclusive and result-oriented.
Elder Ogorugba emphasized the replication of the Governor’s MORE Agenda in Isoko North Local Government Area, promising that government resources would be used judiciously to improve the lives of the people.
He expressed satisfaction in seeing the community happy and committed to working on projects that would benefit the entire Isoko North populace.
“My dear people of Isoko North Local Government Area, today, we gather to mark a significant milestone in our collective journey towards progress, development, and greatness.
“I am deeply humbled and honoured to stand before you as your newly elected Chairman, entrusted with the sacred responsibility of leading our beloved Local Government towards a brighter future.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire people of the Local Government Area for the overwhelming mandate you have given me.
“Your trust and confidence in me are a call to duty, and I promise to serve with unwavering dedication, unshakeable integrity, and unrelenting passion.
“Our administration’s vision is to create a sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive Local Government where every citizen has access to basic amenities, quality education, economic opportunities, and a decent standard of living.
“We are committed to harnessing our vast resources, talents, and potential to build a model Local Government that will be the envy of others.
“Our administration’s agenda would be rooted in Infrastructural development, Healthcare and Social Services, Education and Skills Development, Economic Empowerment, Transparency and Accountability.
“I therefore call on all stakeholders to join hands with the Council to achieve the lofty goals.”
While handing over to the new Chairman, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) in the Council, Sir Augustine Onokpasa, congratulated Elder Ogorugba on his election and subsequent assumption of duty, and assured of the staff’s cooperation as he repositions the Council.
Sir Onopkasa who recounted the history of the council since its creation, warmly welcomed Elder Ogorugba and wished him success in his new role.
Earlier in the day, Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor, the Bishop of the Anglican Communion, Oleh Diocese, conducted prayers for the development for Isoko North under Elder Ogorugba’s leadership.
