Immediate past Chief Of Staff to the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and two Commissioner in Delta State, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu (Ph.D) has emerged the Akpile of Olomu kingdom through a fair contest.
The Akpile/Akpohor is third in the traditional hierarchy in the Olomu Kingdom ranked after Ohworode (King) and the Otota of Olomu Kingdom.
The position was keenly contested by notable Olomu sons at the town hall of Ovwodokpokpor Olomu on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Accordingly, after the vote count, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu emerged winner as he defeated the trio of Olorogun John Oguma, Olorogun Jacob Diedjomahor and Olorogun Esiso. He was immediately declared the ‘Akpile of Olomu kingdom’ by the electoral officers Olorogun Napoleon Ogbarode Ogbon and Olorogun Justice Abohwoyere.
The renowned economists and seasoned politician was thereafter prayed for by Elder Different Ikpen who represented the eldest person in Ovwodokpokpor Olomu, the headquarters of one of the ruling houses in Olomu, ‘The Oghoro ruling house’.
Olorogun Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, the Akpile-Elect in his acceptance speech, thanked the Executive, Elders, Etota, Women and Youths of Oghoro ruling house. He called for prayers, support and cooperation of every son and daughter of Oghoro and pledged to serve Oghoro ruling house and Olomu kingdom meritoriously to the Glory of God.
Present during the election were Olorogun Johnson Ukpeibo, Oghoro ruling house chairman, Olorogun William Alu, Vice Chairman, Etota of Okpare, Ovwor, Umolo, Ovwodokpokpor, Agbazo and Aloba,
