It was a black Sunday to the people of Olomu Kingdom and particularly, the people of Oguname and Ogoni-Olomu, following the sudden and tmysterious death of their renowned son, Prince Chief Philip Atiku.
The news of his death on Sunday, July 2, 2023 has sent family members, Olomu indigenes, friends and beneficiaries of the Late Prince Chief Philip Atiku into sorrows and pains.
Prince Chief. Philip Atiku, a renowned accountant with First Bank Nigeria, who rose to the position of regional manager before he voluntarily resign his appointment recently and went into private busines, was said to be attacked by a mysterious stroke on Friday, but died on Sunday morning at an undisclosed hospital in Ughelli close to his home town Oguname-Olomu.
The news of his death was received with rude shock bringing mourning and tears as many questioned God why.
His younger brother, Mr. Jacob Oghenevwarhe Atiku who broke the news to this journalist could not be consoled as he cried uncontrollably asking God why now.
The scene was pathetic as many who knew the name were seen in a mourning mood.
When the news of his death was posted on Facebook, many who knew him and his worth both in Nigeria and abroad, expressed shock and surprise as they said he was hail and healthy few days ago.
His death has really affected the entire Olomu kingdom and beyond as he is a benefactor to hundreds of students and indigenes whom he pays their school fees and upkeep.
