…Receives Heroic Welcome Home From Abuja By Party Faithful
Former deputy president of the Nigeria senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on Saturday, April 2024,during a home coming party held in his honour, urged his followers and supporters to remain steadfast and work hard at all level ahead of 2027 elections.
Omo-Agege who was addressing mammoth crowed of All Progressive Congress party APC faithful, that besieged the Oil City Hotel, Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government, Delta State, expressed his gratitude to all APC faithful and all who voted for him during the 2023 Governorship elections.
While recounting the support given to him by the people, he said his heart goes to the families of the five APC supporters that most their lives at the creek’s of Gbaramatu during the last day of his campaign. He said they died supporting the party and his ambition. He then called for a minute silence in their honour.
“You all did very well for me all through my time in the senate and I know you also voted for me during the governorship elections.
“Since after the elections, I have been away defending that mandate you freely gave to me, but since the final court in the land decided otherwise, let us therefore according to the biblical injunction, give thanks to God in all situation’s. Let us go home and work at all level ahead of 2027.
” We did campaigned with the renew hope agenda of the president to the nook and crannies of the state.”
Omo-Agege, while calling on constituents and all APC faithful to be patient with the President, lauded President Tinubu for his fruitful economic reform policies and for ensuring a balanced economy. He said, he is confident that the President will definitely make the country proud.
He noted that with this official home coming, he will now be coming home often as they prepare for the 2027 elections and urged all followers not to be wary but work hard.
Speaking earlier before the arrival of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Delta Central Senator, Senator Ede Dafinone who was also the chairman of the event, maintained that Senator Omo-Agege has been the only Urhobo man and Deltan to have occupied the seat of the Deputy President of the Senate. He described the seat as the number five most significant positions in the country and eulogized Omo-Agege for using the office to better the lives of his constituents, the constituency and Delta State in general. He said, during his time in the senate, he sponsors bills that are today beneficial to Delta state as a whole, stating that his home coming is very important and worth celebrating.
“My people, Senator Omo-Agege represented the constituents very positively and he really need our applause”.
He commended the Senator for being so courageous in all he had been and for his performances during his tenure, noting that he indeed served the Delta Central people, the state and Nigeria in general. He described his home coming as a honour to the Urhobo nation and beyond.
Others who whole spoke include Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Hon. Mercy Almonase, Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive and many other APC party chieftain’s who described Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as a patriotic citizens.
