The John Okoriko & Co of Onini legal Chambers for Morals and Values, recently, writes to the People’s Democratic party, (PDP) State Chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, as an Issue of Urgency and Compelling Need for the Party, PDP to disqualify and reject the Candidature of Innocent Esewenzi of the Oshimili North Local government Chairmanship race come July 13, 2024.
In a formal legal notice which was issued and served to key political and legal authorities regarding the unlawful decision to field Hon. Innocent Esewezie for a third term as Local Government Chairman, the wad served to the following;
– State Party Chairman, PDP
– Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State
– Hon. Frank Esenwa, Member Representing Oshimili North LGA
– Chairman, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSEIC)
– Chairman, Delta North PDP
– Chairman, Oshimili North PDP
According to Delta State Law 2013 No. 15 A169 (2),
“A person who has served any two term as Local Government Chairman is disqualified from presenting himself for election as Chairman.”
Hon. Esewezie’s candidacy violates this law. The attached legal paperwork details these violations and the need for adherence to our state’s laws.
We urge all stakeholders to support this action to uphold democratic processes. Leaders must be elected in accordance with the law to ensure fairness and justice.
