****Empowers PDP members, others with cash gift, food items
A political pressure group under the auspices of Ovu Progressive Alliance, OPA, has passed a vote of confidence on the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori on his massive harvest of projects across the 25 local government areas of Delta state in the past one and half years of his administration.
The group has also as part of their contribution to the growth of PDP Ward 5, Ovu community, Ethiope East local government area of Delta state distributed cash gifts, bags of rice worth millions of naira to party faithful, market women and others in line with the More Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to mark this year’s Christmas celebration.
The motion for the vote of confidence on the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was moved by a member of the Ovu Progressive Alliance, OPA, Mr. Andrew Uboko and was seconded by the leader of the group, Chief Ochuko Oghene, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Youth Mobilization.
In an open speech delivered by the Chairman of the Ovu Progressive Alliance, OPA, Mr. Joseph Oghene aka Chido, said the group was formed a year ago under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with dedicated and committed vibrant young men with a vision and mission to bring meaningful change to Ovu community and PDP family.
Mr. Joseph Oghene, who spoke to newsmen at the event called on other party faithful to join them in this journey in ensuring that the group closes all gaps and lapses of PDP in ward 5 Ovu for future elections.
Speaking further he said, “Today’s celebration is as result of unwavering support of many committed individuals who have given their resources to make this gathering possible and we will always remember them for their contributions and we must say this has had inspired us all not to relent in giving.
“l want to use this medium to call on all Ovu Ward 5 to support the government of the Delta State Government, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Obotevwori for his harvest of projects across the state and l know with this steps we have taken with the formation of the group, Ovu Ward 5 will continue to support PDP in subsequent elections.
The Chairman also commented the leader of the group, Hon. Ochuko Oghene, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization for this initiative and the formation of the group, pointing out that his benevolent nature and his leadership style of selfless service has brought the group to the level it is now and it is worth emulating.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, Ethiope East local government area of Delta state, Hon. Midwest Iboyitete, the Ethiope East Council Chairman, Hon. Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe, PDP leader, Chief Mike Adiotomre and others have commended Ovu Progressive Alliance, OPA, led by Chief Ochuko Oghene, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization for this show of love for PDP Ward 5 through this cash empowerment and food items to the people.
They said what Ovu Progressive Alliance has displayed go a long a long way to show that they are fully ready to support and move Ovu Ward 5 to a higher level with this share of love through the donation of cash gifts and food items to market women and party faithful in Ovu Ward 5.
They enjoined all party faithful in Ethiope East not to be carried away with peanuts but to reject whatever offer coming from opposition party to leave the People’s Democratic Party, saying there is nothing in the opposition party and appealed to the people to continue to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori led administration.
