Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commenced the deployment of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) to different state commands and formations.
A release by, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, said that the posting’s goal is to improve communication and community involvement.
Building strong linkages between the Nigeria Police Force and the communities, they played a vital role.
The newly deployed officers are as follows: DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi is assigned to PPRO Kwara State; ASP Unah Paul Echefunachi is assigned to PPRO Ebonyi; ASP Rufa’i Ahmed is assigned to PPRO Sokoto; ASP Musa Mohammed is assigned to PPRO Bayelsa; and SP Ayuba Tunni Umma is posted to PPRO Zone 2, Lagos and ASP Abuka Pius, assigned as a Staff Officer to the Force Public Relations Department’s Public Complaint Bureau at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
However, the Inspector General of Police urged the recently deployed officers to establish close working relationships with the communities they serve, stressing the value of community collaboration in police.
The IGP tasked them with solidifying the community-focused programs and police principles being carried out by the corresponding heads of their orders and appointments.
