…Renders Occupants Homeless
By Godwin-,Maria Utuedoye,
No fewer than 6 occupants, a chemist store and two shops in a storey building were affected in a fire incident that occurred at No 3, Aro road in Ughelli Delta State on Sunday morning when victims of the fire incident have gone to Church.
It was gathered by SOUTHERNVOICENEWS that the fire incident has rendered occupants of the affected building homeless as properties worth millions of naira have been razed down.
The fire which gutted over three flats in the building, started when all occupants in the building have gone to church.
Though the source of the fire could not be ascertain immediately, but men of the Delta State Fire Service were seen battling on how to curtail the fire from spreading to other buildings in the area.
One of the victim whose three bedroom apartment including properties and wedding items, as his wedding has been fixed for December was razed down, could not hold back his tears asking where do I start from.
It was however alleged that the cause of the fire could be either a candle light or a gas cylinder explosion in one of the apartment.
Sympathisers who trooped to the scene, commended the Delta State Fire Service Team in Ughelli, stating that if not for their prompt intervention in responding to the distress call, other buildings in the area could have also been gutted by the fire.
As at the time of filing this report, no life was lost while men of the fire service were still on ground battling with the fire.
