Foremost Delta State PDP Guber aspirant for the 2023 elections and immediate past Chief if Staff to Delta State Governor, Olorogun David Edevbie, has appealed to his supporters not to publish any destructive reports against any aspirant in retaliation to the fake news perpetrated by his critics.
Olorogun Edevbie, gave the charge to his supporters weekend at his country home in Afiesere-Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area while chatting with journalists on the negative political campaign strategies being employed by some politicians in the State.
He noted that he was not surprised by the deplorable tactics being employed by some through perpetrating fake and hate news reports in the media.
He urged his supporters to sustain the high level of decency in their news reports and focus on issues, in line with the peaceful method adopted by his campaign team, despite various provocative and fake news reports against him in the media space recently.
He disclosed that his intimidating track record and pedigree is enough to market him and asked his campaign team to spread the good news about his many achievements since 1999 rather than recognise his opponents by trading insults with them in the media.
Adding that there is no reason for him to condescend to such primordial levels of fake news or destroying billboards, stating that campaign of calumny is typical of those who only know how to destroy but not to build.
According to him “When two people are arguing and one suddenly throws a punch, you immediately know who has lost the argument”.
He further advised all media, workers especially those using the social media to abide by ethics of the profession by way of authenticating facts before publishing to avoid defaming the characters of innocent people with their reports.
