Executive Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Services has said that the service is committed in harmonizing taxes between local governments area and the state for optimum revenue collection.
He stated this on Monday, September 18, in his office when he received the Uvwie Council Chairman, Hon. Ransom Onoyake and his team during a congratulatory visit to him.
The chairman noted that in no distance time, the revenue services will call for a meeting with all the Local Government Council Chairmen on the need to harmonize the taxes to curb revenue leakages.
While thanking the Uvwie Council Chairman and his team for the congratulatory visit, he lauded Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the construction of flyover and expansion of roads in Uvwie local government area using Julius Berger as the contractor.
He called on all Uvwie sons and daughters to support the Oborevwori’s led administration towards the actualization of the M.O.R.E Agenda
Speaking earlier, the Uvwie Council Chairman, Hon Ramson Onoyake said the purpose of their visit was to congratulate him, ( Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata) his appointment as the Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Services.
He applauded the leadership qualities of Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata whom he described as a leader committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to all.
He commended him for his plans to harmonized taxes between the local government areas and state revenue services, saying it is a welcome development as it will help to block revenue leakages.
