Preparations are underway for the silver jubilee ordination anniversary thanksgiving of Very Rev. Fr. Jude Igho, a Catholic Priest from the Diocese of Warri, Delta State.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Ascension Catholic Church Shaguolo, Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta state.
Father Igho, who served as a former Cathedral Administrator in the Diocese of Warri for years, was ordained a Catholic priest on December 8, 1999, and has since served the Church in various capacities both as parish priest at Okpara Inland, Uzere, Umutu, Ubeji, the Sacred Heart Cathedral and presently at Ascension Catholic parish Ekpan. He has been a member of several commission and board in the Catholic diocese of Warri demonstrating great zeal and passion for saving souls. Fr. Jude Igho is an avid reader and writer. An Educational Psychologist, a Philosopher, Counsellor and has written over a thousand articles published in Catholic magazines and other recognized journals. He is presently the chairman of the Diocesan Hospital Commission board and has also authored several books on good governance, politics, Nigeria and Corrupt leaders etc and also held significant roles as chairman within the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) both at the local and state government levels.
The jubilee celebrations and thanksgiving to God for graces and love, will begin with an opening Mass on December 8, and this will be followed by an Agape Feast and Christmas Carol after the Holy thanksgiving Mass
Additional activities include:
* December 9, Quiz competition in the parish.
* December 10: Free medical services and counseling.
* December 11: Evangelization and visits to the sick.
* December 12: Novelty football matches, featuring teams from Ascension Parish and Saint Theresa’s Parish, as well as a match between members of the Saint Ann Society and CWO.
* December 13: Meals on wheels for the less privileged.
* December 14: Grand finale with a Holy Mass and reception at Ishaka Hotel, Effurun.
Very Rev. Fr. Jude Igho has been described as a humble, matured, generous and experienced priest, dedicated to his ministry and focus on pastoral cares for his people. A very friendly priest with desires to bring people together irrespective of tribe, status and denominations.
